Read the chart with the right context. This page explains the main choices FBPlot exposes when a player comparison becomes a chart.
Start with the competition, season, player position, and time period that match the question. Coverage is not identical across competitions, and a partial or recently started season should not be interpreted like a complete season.
The coverage directory shows which competitions, seasons, matches, and clubs are available.
FBPlot can present a metric as an absolute value, per 90, percentile, per-best, or team contribution when that mode is supported. These views answer different questions. Absolute totals describe volume, per-90 values adjust for minutes, and percentiles describe a player’s position within the selected comparison context.
Check the metrics glossary before comparing unfamiliar measures or combining metrics with different denominators.
A useful comparison keeps the competition, season, position, time window, and metric interpretation as consistent as possible. A chart communicates the selected context; it does not remove differences in role, team, league strength, minutes, or tactical responsibility.
FBPlot currently describes its database as refreshed weekly. Match availability and metric completeness can still vary by competition and period. Records may be missing, partial, revised, or dependent on the underlying third-party data source.
Treat charts as evidence for analysis and communication, not as a guarantee of accuracy or as a substitute for scouting, coaching, medical, financial, or recruitment review.
